The Rural Youth & Adult Literacy Trust in Port Waikato is dedicated to providing free reading and writing lessons for isolated and rural adults and teenagers. They offer a range of services to support literacy development, including one-to-one coaching and the ability to learn at your own pace in the comfort of your own home. Coaches work with students for 30 minutes a day, 3-5 days a week, using various means of communication such as phone, mail, fax, and video-conference.

Additionally, students can access online practice software if they have internet access or can visit a library computer. The trust also organizes school holiday Catchup Literacy Camps for high school students who want to enhance their literacy skills. With a team of dedicated staff, including a manager, executive assistant, community coordinator, student coach coordinator, and accounts administrator, the trust is committed to providing quality literacy training.
