About AECA Asociación Quito
AECA Asociación Quito is a non-profit organization founded in 1968. It is the Association of Alumni of the Colegio Alemán de Quito, with approximately 4,500 members who have graduated over the course of the school's 100-year history. AECA's main focus is on contributing to the social, cultural, intellectual, professional, and academic growth of Ecuadorian society.
The association achieves this by leveraging the diverse expertise and experiences of its six generations and ninety promotions of alumni. AECA offers a range of programs and initiatives to fulfill its objectives. Their humanitarian aid program targets the most vulnerable groups in Ecuadorian society who often don't receive adequate assistance from other social networks.
This includes orphans, abandoned elderly individuals, people living on the streets, disabled children, families in extreme poverty, pregnant teenagers with limited resources, sex workers, single mothers living in poverty, and women who have experienced gender-based violence. Furthermore, AECA's education program supports students from the Colegio Alemán in their transition to university and professional life. The program includes vocational guidance talks, recognition for outstanding academic and sporting achievements, assistance with job placement, and collaboration on educational initiatives such as the reconstruction of a school in the province of Manabí and the establishment of a German school in the Galápagos Islands.
AECA also has an Alumni Integration Program that allows graduates to stay connected, share experiences, promote their businesses and services, participate in social and community activities, and receive benefits from local and national businesses. The association serves as a communication platform for more than 4,500 alumni distributed across six generations, ninety promotions, and 100 years of the Colegio Alemán's existence. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the worsening socioeconomic situation, AECA has intensified and expanded its humanitarian efforts.
It has mobilized resources and donations to provide food kits to thousands of families in extreme poverty and offer meals to disadvantaged individuals in the poorest neighborhoods of Quito and its surrounding areas. The association has also extended support to people in dire need, including abandoned elderly and disabled children. In summary, AECA Asociación Quito plays a vital role in promoting social welfare and educational development in Ecuador.
Their dedication to helping the most vulnerable groups and fostering alumni collaboration demonstrates their commitment to making a positive impact on society
