The Association of Early Childhood Educators of Newfoundland & Labrador (AECENL) is the professional organization for individuals with qualifications in early childhood education or those working in child care or related fields. Established in 1989, AECENL represents the issues and concerns of its members, advocating for their interests on boards, committees, and in meetings with the government. AECENL plays a crucial role in the certification and professional development of early childhood educators (ECEs) through a service contract with the government.

One of the key achievements of AECENL is spearheading the proclamation of Early Childhood Educators' Week, an annual celebration during the last week of May, recognizing the vital work of individuals in the child care sector. AECENL also holds an annual provincial conference, providing networking opportunities, expert guest speakers, and workshops to enhance the delivery of high-quality child care and support for families. As an affiliate member of the Canadian Child Care Federation, AECENL contributes its expertise to the national voice for child care issues.

The association's commitment to promoting the professionalism and importance of early childhood educators is reflected in its dedication to serving its members and advocating for the sector's recognition
