About Aero Clube do Porto | Porto
Aero Clube do Porto is a nonprofit aviation organisation founded in 1935 to train pilots and promote flying. It began its aviation school in the year of its founding, led by Captain Oliva Telles, and has maintained a focus on aviation education, safety and knowledge throughout its history. After operating at Pedras Rubras, the club moved in 1993 to its current base at Vilar de Luz Municipal Airport, where it continues to serve aspiring pilots and aviation enthusiasts.
The club offers private pilot training, including the PPL(A) course and pathways for people with prior experience or existing licences. Its programmes include night-flying and single-engine piston qualifications, theoretical training for the PPL(H), and distance learning for the PPL(A)-to-PPL(H) bridge. The Aero Clube do Porto also promotes introductory flying experiences through baptism flights and βAula Zeroβ sessions. Its listed aircraft include Cessna 150, 152 and 172 models, a Piper J-3 Cub and a Tecnam P92 Echo.
