A Associação de Estudantes da Faculdade Ciências da Universidade do Porto é a segunda maior associação estudantil da Universidade do Porto, representando todos os alunos da Faculdade de Ciências. A AEFCUP assenta a sua atuação nos trâmites definidos pela Constituição da República Portuguesa e demais leis consagradas pelo nosso Estado de direito democrático, destacando-se os princípios da Liberdade, Igualdade de Oportunidades, Solidariedade Fraternidade e Laicidade, gozando de total autonomia, relativamente a qualquer outro organismo. Foi legalmente constituída a 27 Janeiro de 1986, embora a sua existência remonte anos 30 do século XX. No entanto a oficialização da legalização da AEFCUP ocorreu a 26 de Agosto de 1987, com a publicação dos seus estatutos em Diário da República.

AEFCUP is the Students’ Association of the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Porto, representing more than 5,000 students. It advocates for students’ interests through inclusive activism and supports a high-quality public higher education system. Its work also promotes civic development, student wellbeing and sustainability through educational and cultural activities.
The association brings together practical resources for academic life, including information about accommodation, tutoring to support studies, and professional and volunteering opportunities. Its guidance covers academic regulations, applications for university residences and integration into university life, with an English-language integration guide also available. Students can find information about scholarships from DGES, Gulbenkian and FCT, as well as merit awards and other funding resources.
AEFCUP also provides events and sports programming, alongside departments focused on student-athlete support, employment and training, social intervention and sustainability, and recreational and cultural activities. The association maintains an online shop and offers a student-facing secretariat open on weekdays from 8:00 to 12:00 and 12:30 to 16:30.
