AELC Gubbio is a local cancer-support association founded in Gubbio in 1992. Its mission is to promote the development and delivery of a broader oncology support project through cooperation and integration with public institutions. Based at the Gubbio/Gualdo Tadino hospital in Branca, AELC provides practical assistance and information for people affected by cancer and their families.
Since 1993, the association has offered home-based palliative care, helping patients receive support in their own homes. It also provides transport for radiotherapy and a free transport service for patients in Gubbio and the surrounding Apennine area. Alongside these services, AELC promotes information and prevention to encourage greater awareness of cancer.
The association welcomes community support through donations and membership initiatives, and shares news about its activities and events. By combining care, transport, prevention and public engagement, AELC works to make support more accessible to people facing cancer in its local area.
