AERESS

AERESS, the Spanish Association of Social and Solidarity Economy Recovery Organisations, is a nonprofit network representing social enterprises focused on reuse, repair and recycling. Since 1994, it has supported member organisations that create social, economic and environmental value in their communities, while advancing the circular economy and inclusive employment.

The network works across waste management, including textiles, electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and other materials. Its services include integrated waste management and preparation of items for reuse, alongside social and vocational inclusion initiatives. AERESS also promotes environmental awareness and policy engagement, and shares information through campaigns, reports, studies and sector news.

Through its directory, people can find member organisations, second-hand shops and reuse preparation centres, as well as learn where to donate items. AERESS offers online calculators to estimate the emissions and water savings associated with reuse and the employment it helps support. The association also encourages participation through donations, membership and collaboration with businesses, connecting communities with practical ways to extend the life of products and reduce waste.
