The Fédération Aéronautique Luxembourgeoise (FAL) is Luxembourg’s representative federation for the country’s aeronautical activities. Its origins date to the founding of the Aéro-Club Luxembourgeois on 28 November 1909. The club’s early work included organizing an international aviation week in Mondorf-les-Bains in 1910, when it also undertook official oversight of aviation performances. The FAL continues to hold this role for aeronautical activities in Luxembourg.
The federation brings together around 30 affiliated clubs, representing associations active across the sector. It coordinates, encourages and supports their work, and represents Luxembourg’s aeronautical community nationally and internationally. Its branches cover aeromodelling, ballooning, motor aviation, microlight aviation and paramotoring, parachuting, gliding, free flight, aviation heritage, and complementary aeronautical associations. The FAL provides information about these disciplines through its website, alongside news, an activity map, a calendar, a gallery, links and downloadable resources. It also shares updates relevant to pilots and clubs, including information about UAS fees for model aircraft operators, and maintains connections with the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) and AOPA Luxembourg.
