Aero Filmfestival is a community-focused film festival held at Kjeller Airport in Lillestrøm, Norway. Celebrating humanity’s journey through the air, it brings aviation-themed films and talks to an airport hangar and pairs screenings with activities for visitors of all ages. Its programme has included outdoor cinema and open days at the small-aircraft airfield, as well as special screenings such as Top Gun: Maverick.
The festival also creates opportunities for audiences to engage with aviation beyond the screen. Activities have included a paper-airplane competition, whose young winners were rewarded with a flight in a Norwegian electric aircraft, and a bicycle-check workshop offered with local partners. Aero Filmfestival invites volunteers to help plan and deliver the event, and acknowledges the support of sponsors.
Its aim is to create an enjoyable local gathering, combining film, aviation, talks and hands-on activities for families and other curious visitors. By using an airport setting as part of the experience, the festival connects stories about flight with the place and community around it
