Aeroklub Ružomberok

Aeroklub Ružomberok is a Slovak civil association dedicated to aviation and flying in the Liptov region. Based at Ružomberok Airport (LZRU), the club supports both gliding and powered flying, bringing together aviation activities and pilot training. Its gliding program introduces the freedom of unpowered flight, using naturally rising air currents created by thermals, slopes, and mountain waves. The club also trains new glider pilots for the SPL qualification. Training combines theoretical instruction with practical flying on the two-seat L13A Blaník training glider.

Alongside flying and instruction, Aeroklub Ružomberok manages the local airport and shares practical information for pilots and visitors. Its website provides airport details, weather updates, an OGN radar, webcams, and a gallery, as well as news and contact information. The club’s activities reflect its role as a local aviation organization serving both its members and people interested in flight. It is registered as an association in Slovakia and also invites public support for its sporting aviation through donations of a portion of income tax.
