AEST

AEST, the Association of Occupational Health and Safety Companies, is a Portuguese nonprofit association founded on 13 September 1999. It represents companies that provide occupational health and/or safety services, advocating for their legitimate interests before public authorities, other associations and organisations. The association also engages with issues affecting the implementation, reform and development of occupational health and safety in Portugal, and collaborates with public and private bodies on matters of shared interest.

AEST brings member companies together to strengthen the credibility and competitiveness of workplace health and safety services and the organisations that rely on them. Eligible companies can apply for membership through an application process reviewed by the association’s leadership. Membership includes honorary, effective and provisional categories, with founding members included among effective members.

The association provides information and resources through its website, including statutes, legislation, frequently asked questions and useful links. It also publishes news and organises training, including sessions on the European Union’s AI Act delivered by an associate company.
