Aesthetic Distance is the personal brand of Eliza Romero, a Filipino American writer, podcast host, and former model based in Maryland. Through her work, Romero explores pop culture, politics, and the experiences of the Asian diaspora, creating space for perspectives often simplified or overlooked in mainstream media.

Romero is a founder of Plan A Magazine, a platform and community for people in the Asian diaspora to examine changing political and social climates, identity, and the narratives that shape their lives. Its articles, podcasts, and community efforts encourage thoughtful discussion beyond stereotypes and curated soundbites. She is also a cohost of the weekly Escape from Plan A podcast. Her previous projects include Unverified Accounts, focused on movies, pop culture, and politics, and The Aesthetic Distance Podcast.

Beyond publishing and podcasting, Romero hosts cultural events and moderates conversations, including discussions on Asian American literature and events with Filipino American authors.
