Afanias Castellón

Afanias Castellón is an association supporting people with intellectual disabilities and their families in the province of Castellón. Founded in 1965, it works to improve lives by promoting rights, equality, autonomy, and inclusion, while complementing public services with specialized support. In 2025, the organization marked 60 years of service.

Its facilities and programs include two early intervention centers, two occupational centers, a day center, a residence, and three supported homes. It also provides therapeutic support for children and young people, access to sports facilities, and opportunities for social participation. The centers and homes operate through agreements with public administrations, and a volunteer program helps strengthen community involvement.

Afanias Castellón also develops inclusive projects, creates its own resources, collaborates with cultural and scientific organizations, and runs activities that encourage visibility and participation. Through awareness campaigns, institutional dialogue, and opportunities for people to share their experiences, it advocates for a more inclusive society. Donations, volunteering, and partnerships with businesses offer ways for the wider community to support its work.
