Action For Animals Humane Society (AFA) is a dedicated 501c3 non-profit, no-kill shelter established in 1983, located just outside Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Committed to rescuing and caring for abused, neglected, and stray dogs and cats, AFA provides a safe haven until they can find loving forever homes. Each year, the shelter facilitates the adoption of 700-800 animals, ensuring each one receives the love and attention it deserves.

In addition to rescue and adoption services, AFA offers low-cost spay and neuter programs aimed at combating animal overpopulation and cruelty. The facility features modern amenities, including a cageless open-air cattery, a dog park, and private visitation rooms, creating a nurturing environment for animals and potential adopters.

AFA's mission emphasizes the importance of finding responsible homes for pets while promoting humane practices. The organization prioritizes the well-being of every animal, upholding a save rate that meets the criteria for a no-kill shelter. Through community support and dedicated staff, AFA continues its vital work in animal welfare.
