About AFCAC
AFCAC, the African Civil Aviation Commission, is the African Union's specialized agency dedicated to all civil aviation matters on the continent. Serving as the Executing Agency of the Yamoussoukro Decision (YD) and the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM), AFCAC aims to promote cooperation and coordination among African States for the development of integrated and sustainable air transport systems. Their vision is to create a safe, secure, efficient, cost-effective, sustainable, and environmentally-friendly civil aviation industry across African States.
AFCAC's core activities include initiatives like the SAATM, aimed at creating an integrated air transport market in Africa, and programs like AFI-CIS to enhance aviation safety. Additionally, they focus on environmental protection through measures like CORSIA and Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAFs). Through these efforts, AFCAC plays a crucial role in advancing economies, connecting people and communities, and supporting sustainable economic and social development through aviation in Africa.
