Alberta Family Child Care Association

The Alberta Family Child Care Association (AFCCA) is a provincial association supporting contracted, licensed family day home agencies and educators throughout Alberta. Incorporated in 1989, it works to promote the health and well-being of children and families by advancing quality care in the family day home sector. AFCCA serves as a voice for families and educators, helping develop standards that support licensed family child care and advocating for excellence across the province.

The association advances its goals through education, collaboration, and support for contracted licensed family day home programs. It also works to build positive relationships with the provincial government and is recognized as a source of expertise and an innovative leader in the child care profession. AFCCA’s members contribute their time on a volunteer basis to strengthen the sector and improve the quality of care. As a member of the Canadian Child Care Federation, the association also participates in national efforts to promote standards and equity in child care.
