Affective Collective

The Affective Collective is a pediatric occupational therapy practice based in Charleston, South Carolina, offering play-based, relationship-centered support for children and their families. Founded by Laura Westbrook, MS, OTR/L, DIR-E, an occupational therapist with more than a decade of experience in DIR Floortime, relational neuroscience, sensory processing, and motor development, the practice aims to help children participate joyfully in play, relationships, and everyday activities.

Services include direct in-home occupational therapy for children of all ages throughout Charleston, as well as virtual parent support and professional mentorship available worldwide. Therapy uses connection-driven, play-based interactions to support children’s development and meaningful engagement in daily life. Parent support helps families better understand their child’s developmental journey and strengthen parent-child connections. Mentorship is offered individually or in groups, with a focus on strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming, Floortime-informed practice.

Families can begin with a free 15-minute consultation, then arrange an evaluation, parent support, or mentorship session. The practice is out of network with insurance but can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement, depending on the family’s plan.
