Michael Quinion is a distinguished author and language expert renowned for his influential work, particularly the "Dictionary of Affixes." With a background in physical sciences from Cambridge University, Quinion's career has taken a multifaceted journey through the realms of broadcasting and museum curation. He initially joined BBC radio, contributing to local programming and later playing a pivotal role in establishing radio stations across Britain.

His entrepreneurial spirit led him to create interpretive audio-visual programs for various national agencies and visitor attractions. Quinion also co-founded Touchstone Associates, a consultancy focusing on tourism and visitor facility planning.
