About AFLMT
American Friends of the Lebanon Mountain Trail (AFLMT) promotes educational programs, environmental protection, the conservation of natural and cultural heritage, and rural economic development connected to the Lebanon Mountain Trail. The organization supports efforts to sustain and share the trail, a 470-kilometer route crossing 79 villages and divided into 27 sections. The trail passes through six nature reserves, three protected areas, and two World Heritage Sites, with elevations ranging from 1,800 to 6,000 feet.
AFLMT raises awareness of the trail and its value through outreach, events, and stories for hikers and supporters. Its website features trail information, hiking-related articles, news, and updates on initiatives such as improvements to directional signage and support for the Baskinta Literary Trail. Visitors can also learn about the organization’s participation in tourism events and public celebrations of the trail.
