About Associa
AFP, or the Association of Pharmacies of Portugal, has a rich history that dates back to 1991 when it was founded with a small group of 6 pharmacies. With a strong community and service-oriented spirit, the association aimed to support both pharmacies and the community. This spirit still prevails today.
Under the leadership of Dr. Graça Pereira Lopes, AFP established protocols with ADSE, the Ministry of Justice, and the PSP in 1992. Over the years, AFP expanded its network of protocols with various public and private entities.
In 2008, AFP reached a milestone of representing 100 members and signed a collaboration agreement with the Lusófona University. The association also launched the portal Portal das farmácias and the national distribution magazine Infopharma. In 2016, AFP introduced AFPConnect, an integrated information exchange platform for pharmacies, healthcare subsystems, and public entities.
With over 150 pharmacies, AFP continues to grow and support the pharmaceutical community under the leadership of Dr. Isabel Cortez, the current president. Visit their renovated website at www.
