AFPAD, the Famalicense Association for the Prevention and Support of Disability, is a Portuguese private social solidarity institution (IPSS) founded in 1993 and based in Vila Nova de Famalicão. It supports people with disabilities and developmental needs through three social services, with a mission focused on inclusion, autonomy and family support. Its Early Childhood Intervention team, ELI 4, works with children from birth to age six who have developmental differences or are at risk of delay, providing integrated support to children and families across the municipality.

The Centre for Activities and Inclusion Capacity (CACI) offers tailored occupational activities for adults aged 18 and over, promoting independence and physical and emotional well-being. AFPAD also operates “A Minha Casa,” a residential home in Vermoim offering round-the-clock assistance with daily living to adults with disabilities. The association publishes institutional reports, annual activity and financial accounts, strategic plans and budgets, and maintains registered statutes.

AFPAD reports supporting 120 people and employing more than 30 staff. It is EQUASS Assurance certified and holds public-utility status
