The Association for Foreign Relations (AFR) is a prominent civil society organization in Taiwan, fostering global outreach and active engagement in regional and world affairs. Established by a diverse group of officials, entrepreneurs, NGO leaders, and scholars, AFR serves as a crucial bridge between Taiwan's civil society and government. Acting as a "do tank" rather than a think tank, AFR focuses on communication and empathy to strengthen international cooperation and cross-Strait relations.
By combining resources from the public, private, and third sectors, AFR facilitates meetings, seminars, and events to promote Taiwan's image and significance on the global stage. AFR's objectives include assisting the ROC government, promoting peace in the Asia Pacific through dialogue, and upholding Taiwan's status.
