The Africa Leadership Initiative (ALI) is dedicated to developing the next generation of values-based African leaders. ALI recognizes that Africa's social and economic challenges can only be averted with the guidance of enlightened leaders who possess unwavering integrity. Since its establishment in 2003, ALI has been committed to investing in the development of effective and enlightened African leaders who will shape the continent's future.
ALI is part of the Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN), collaborating with other leadership initiatives worldwide. ALI spans across Africa, with regional initiatives in West Africa, East Africa, and South Africa. The ALI Fellowship Programme is a pivotal part of this mission, providing seminars that broaden the participants' perspectives and cultivate value-based, community-spirited leaders.
The program focuses on thought to action, inspiring fellows to implement sustainable community projects. Led by skilled moderators trained by the Aspen Institute, the seminars explore leadership, defining the good society, globalization, and personal legacy. ALI aims to create a continental community of like-minded individuals dedicated to achieving global significance for a better Africa
