The African Arbitration Association (AfAA) is a non-profit private sector-led association that serves as the continental promotional body for international arbitration and other forms of international dispute resolution. Comprising a General Assembly, a Board of Directors, and a Secretariat, the AfAA is led by qualified African International Arbitration Scholars and Practitioners who provide strategic direction and guidance. The Secretariat, headed by a Secretary General who is an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors, handles the daily operations of the association.

Membership in the AfAA includes leading African international arbitration and ADR practitioners, as well as African arbitration institutions and initiatives. The association's mission is to support the ongoing development of international arbitration in Africa, while also showcasing the international prominence of its members and their activities in international arbitration and international dispute resolution.
