About AfricanCashewAlliance
The African Cashew Alliance (ACA) is an association of African and international businesses dedicated to promoting a globally competitive African cashew industry. With nearly 130 member companies, the ACA represents all aspects of the cashew value chain, including producers, processors, traders, and international buyers. Africa is currently responsible for growing over 2.
5 million cashew farmers, accounting for approximately 57% of the world's cashews. Over the last decade, African smallholder farmers have significantly increased production, now yielding more than 1. 6 million tons of raw cashew nuts (RCN) annually, making Africa the world's largest producer of RCN.
Although the processing capacity in Africa is still growing, an estimated 25% increase in RCN processing within the continent would generate over US$100 million in household income, significantly improving the lives of families in rural areas. The ACA's mission is to accelerate growth and investments in the African cashew industry through partnerships, advocacy, market linkages, technical support, and global networking. By providing networking opportunities, timely information, promoting sector improvements, and advocating for investment and technical support, the ACA aims to create a sustainable African cashew industry that delivers globally competitive, value-added products and ensures profitability for all actors
