African History is an online platform dedicated to sharing the stories, cultures, places, and historical experiences of the African continent. Its mission is to help readers explore a history it says has often been missing from schools and to present Africa’s journey through accessible, regularly updated content. The site publishes articles on a wide range of subjects, including pre-colonial kingdoms, influential leaders, colonial rule and resistance, religious history, and modern social movements.
Examples include features on Mansa Musa, the Sokoto Caliphate, the Mau Mau Uprising, and Nigeria’s history. Visitors can also discover places across Africa, from historic sites such as Elmina Castle to natural destinations such as the Virunga Mountains and Sossusvlei. The platform offers videos and promotes an app for exploring its content.
Its site also directs visitors to African maps and a shop featuring African art, alongside options to donate and support its work. African History serves readers seeking engaging resources about the continent’s past, heritage, and destinations
