African Liberation Day (ALD), celebrated annually on May 25th, serves as a focal point for the global Pan-African movement. This significant event spans one or two days and features a variety of activities including insightful symposiums with international speakers, vibrant marches and rallies, and culturally relevant vendor exhibitions. ALD emphasizes the importance of political education and unites African populations in reaffirming their commitment to Pan-Africanism, advocating for the total liberation and unification of Africa under scientific socialism.

Each year, the day also highlights themes that resonate with the struggles of African people globally, fostering solidarity and understanding among various movements for justice. Notable awards, such as the Mawina Kouyate Daughters of Africa Award and the Kwame Ture Black Star of Labor Award, are presented to recognize outstanding contributions in the fight for freedom and equity. The celebration is not only a commemoration of past struggles but also a call to action for ongoing efforts towards liberation across the African continent and beyond.
