About AfricanLII
AfricanLII is a renowned brand that serves as a comprehensive information hub for African legal matters. With a wide range of products and services, they offer an extensive collection of legal instruments, including charters, treaties, conventions, and regulations. Additionally, AfricanLII provides access to judgments from regional African courts, soft law policies, decisions, recommendations, and official Gazettes from regional economic communities.
The platform's primary objective is to foster effective collaboration between African citizens, civil society organizations, and AGA members to enhance the implementation of the African Governance Architecture (AGA) agenda. AfricanLII aims to increase awareness, supply accurate information, build capacity, strengthen monitoring, and develop insights to improve implementation at both regional and national levels. AfricanLII is a collaborative effort between the Democratic Governance and Rights Unit at the University of Cape Town and Laws.
Africa, supported by funding from the European Union, the Indigo Trust, and the Sigrid Rausing Trust. Their partnership strives to unlock the value of African digital legal information, promoting the rule of law, access to justice, and innovation.
