About African Women In Tech Startups
AfricanWITS is an African Women In Tech Startup that aims to empower and support women in the technology industry. As a non-profit organization founded in 2016, AfricanWITS serves as a Tech Hub, preparing women to seize the opportunities for empowerment that technology provides through entrepreneurship. They also offer guidance and assistance to women entrepreneurs in utilizing digital tools as a catalyst for growth, regardless of their field.
Their flagship event, the Femme Numérique Festival, has been running since 2019 and focuses on equipping women and young girls with strategic digital skills for wealth creation. Through workshops, conferences, mentoring, coaching, and awards, AfricanWITS helps women and young girls strategically leverage the power of digital technology. Additionally, AfricanWITS organizes Carav'Elles, a caravan of training and support activities for internally displaced women in Cameroon, enabling them to generate income and provide for themselves and their families.
