Africa Oyé is a Liverpool-based festival and cultural organisation celebrating African music and culture. Billed as the UK’s largest celebration of its kind, the festival brings together international artists, emerging local talent and community performers for a lively programme in Sefton Park. Its 2027 event is scheduled for 19 and 20 June, with early-bird tickets on sale.
Music is at the heart of Africa Oyé, with live performances across genres and a dedicated DJ stage. The experience extends beyond the main stages: the Oyé Village features more than 90 stalls offering food, drink, arts, crafts and fashion from Africa and beyond, alongside a funfair and activities for families. The Oyé Family Zone and Oyé Active Zone provide workshops and creative activities, including dance, music and art, led by local and international companies.
Africa Oyé also supports community performances, introduces audiences to new artists and runs related events and initiatives, including Oyé Introduces, digital radio and the Nyumbani podcast.
