The Africa Youth Portal is a youth-focused platform that centralises knowledge and builds connections to help young leaders across Africa drive change and pursue opportunities. Its content and resources focus on research and policy, with coverage of gender, education, climate change, peace and security, and youth agency and inclusion. The portal publishes research articles, features, news and analysis on issues affecting the continent, including women’s empowerment, digital health information and youth livelihoods.

It also provides access to the Africa Portal research library, which contains more than 5,000 books, journals and digital documents. Through announcements and application opportunities, the platform connects emerging researchers and policy leaders with initiatives such as the Africa Youth Portal and Research Programme Training Workshop. The portal was introduced as a new initiative to empower the next generation of policy leaders, in a multi-year partnership between the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA) and the Mastercard Foundation.
