About Afro-Pfingsten Festival
The Afro-Pfingsten Festival is the largest Swiss festival dedicated to African and Afro-American cultures. Since 1991, it has been held annually in Winterthur during the Whitsun weekend. This festival transforms the entire city into an intercultural melting pot, offering a diverse program that includes concerts, markets, workshops, art, movies, parties, lectures, and a Family Day.
With over 30 years of experience, the Afro-Pfingsten Festival has become Switzerland's oldest and largest festival showcasing Afro-cultures, attracting around 80,000 visitors each year. The main concerts are held at Salzhaus, featuring a lineup of talented artists representing the diverse range of Afro-cultures. Additionally, there are concerts at other locations such as Liebestrasse and Stadtkirche, as well as a stage at the market in Winterthur's old town, providing a space for emerging talents to perform.
