AfrOstrava is a cultural festival and community initiative based in Ostrava, Czech Republic, celebrating African culture in dialogue with European, Caribbean and other global influences. Its flagship event, AfrOstrava Festival, is a two-day gathering scheduled for August 13–14, 2027, at Dolní Vítkovice, a historic industrial site in Ostrava. The festival brings people together through live performances by international artists and DJs, dance, fashion, visual art, installations and food.
Visitors can also take part in dance lessons, workshops, panel discussions and community activities, or explore a market featuring craftspeople, creators and vendors. Designed for all age groups, AfrOstrava offers opportunities to discover different cultural perspectives, learn, connect and enjoy shared experiences. Beyond the annual festival, the organization hosts events such as dance workshops and cultural gatherings.
AfrOstrava works with cultural, creative, institutional and corporate partners, and welcomes volunteers to support its events. Through these activities, it aims to create an inclusive and inspiring setting for cultural exchange and connection
