AFS Hong Kong is a non-profit international volunteer organization that specializes in providing opportunities for cross-cultural learning through programs such as overseas exchange and local hosting. Established in 1982 as the Hong Kong office of AFS Intercultural Programs, AFS International Cultural Exchange has a global network of 60 branches and over 500,000 alumni. Their overseas exchange program provides local secondary school students with the opportunity to live in a foreign language environment for 9-10 months or 2-6 weeks. Over 4,000 Hong Kong students have participated in this program to date. Additionally, AFS Hong Kong offers a local hosting program, where local schools and families have the opportunity to host foreign exchange students for a year. With over 900 exchange students and more than 130 participating schools, AFS has established a strong network in Hong Kong. Moreover, AFS provides a cross-cultural learning course for students aged 12-14, allowing them to learn about different cultures, international issues, and cultural concepts.

They offer scholarships and funding options, thanks to organizations like the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and the Hong Kong Gas.
