Afslag2

Afslag2 is the independent software development and architecture practice of Maurice Bonemeijer, an enterprise web developer and software architect. It helps organizations design, build, modernize, and assess business-critical web software, with a focus on reliable behavior, performance, efficient infrastructure, and controlled ongoing development.

Services include enterprise web development for autonomous processes, order processing, and webshop platforms; software architecture shaped by functional requirements, expected scale, and operational needs; modernization of legacy systems; and independent advice on outsourced development, technical designs, and project proposals. Afslag2 also provides technical leadership to help ensure development follows agreed architectural principles.

Its experience includes designing and guiding the development of a global search platform handling 100–200 million searches per day. The practice emphasizes observability, explicit error handling, and regression testing to help maintain system quality as software evolves. Maurice uses AI agents to support development, while retaining responsibility for technical direction, specifications, and review. Separately, he created VitaSaurus, a Dutch search engine and price comparison service for supplements and health products.
