AfterJob is a marketplace that connects clients with local service providers and freelancers for home projects, repairs, skilled trades, and flexible, short-term jobs. The platform helps clients post a job quickly and receive proposals from qualified professionals, while workers can find opportunities in their area. Its service categories include plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, moving, painting, lawn care, maintenance, childcare, housekeeping, hairstyling, and freelance accounting, alongside general labour and other services.

AfterJob also invites local businesses to promote their services and become more visible to nearby clients. For freelancers seeking occasional extra work, the site advertises flexible assignments, including evening and weekend opportunities, and states that payment is made within seven days. Clients can pay the platform fee securely and, when using direct payment, pay freelancers after approving the completed work. AfterJob offers job search and posting features, a help centre, safety and community resources, and mobile apps for Android and iOS. The company identifies itself as AfterJob Inc. and states that its platform follows Canada’s PIPEDA privacy requirements.
