About Coalitions & Collaboratives
After the Flames (ATF) is an initiative established in 2019 by Coalitions & Collaboratives (COCO), which hosts the program. It focuses on tools and tactics for communities and agencies affected by wildfire, with the broader aim of strengthening national capacity for recovery. Its programs are designed to help reduce wildfire impacts on communities and ecosystems while building collaboration across landscapes.
ATF shares practical knowledge through conferences, workshops, and a webinar archive. Its events bring participants together to learn and collaborate on wildfire recovery, with agendas, presentations, speaker information, and after-action reports available for past and upcoming gatherings. Resources address topics such as post-fire flooding, debris-flow hazards, emergency assessment, rainfall thresholds, watershed readiness, community-led recovery, resilient reforestation, and recovery planning. The program also highlights work by agencies, researchers, community partners, and other organizations.
Through its learning resources and convening activities, After the Flames supports shared understanding of the challenges that follow wildfire and helps communities and agencies explore recovery approaches.
