Afyon Enerji ve Gübre, yatırımına 2011 yılında başladığı 55.000m2 alan üzerine kurulu 'Afyon Biyogaz Enerji Santrali' projesini 2014 yılında tamamlayarak; Türkiye'nin ilk en büyük bitkisel ve hayvansal kaynaklı biyokütle enerji tesisini devreye almıştır. Afyon Biyogaz Enerji Santrali'nde yılda 150.000 ton organik kaynaklı bitkisel ve hayvansal atıkların; anaerobik fermentasyon teknolojisi ile havasız ortamda çürütülmesi sonucu elde edilen biyogaz ile; 32.000.000 kwh/yıl elektrik enerjisi; 33.500.000 kwh/yıl ısı enerjisi üretilmektedir. Fermentasyonu tamamlanmış olan hammaddenin hijyenizasyon sürecinden de geçirilmesi ile birlikte toprağa zarar veren zararlı gaz ve diğer bileşenlerinden arındırılmış, kokusuz, yüksek organik madde içerikli katı organik gübre üretilmektedir. Çevre için büyük sorun haline gelen bitkisel ve hayvansal kaynaklı atıkların bertaraf edilmesinin yanında bu sorunu yenilenebilir enerjiye ve organik madde miktarı yüksek organik gübre üretimine dönüştüren yüksek teknolojiye sahip entegre tesisimiz yılda 177.000 ton karbon salınımın engellemektedir. Katı organik gübre üretim kapasitesi 20.000 ton/yıl; organomineral gübre üretim kapasitesi 60.000 ton/yıl; organik sıvı gübre üretim kapasitesi 80.000 ton/yıl olup bu organik gübre ve zenginleştirilmesi ile elde edilen tüm gübre ürünleri Afyon Gübre markası altında toplanmaktadır.
