About AGATA Resource Centre Inc.
AGATA Resource Centre Inc. (ARC) is a Black-focused, Black-led, and Black-owned not-for-profit organization that aims to create mentally healthy communities in Scarborough and the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). We acknowledge the systemic barriers and racism that have historically prevented vulnerable populations from accessing quality mental health care.
ARC's mission is to provide the Black community in Toronto with mental health education services and resources, empowering every member to improve their mental well-being. Our vision is to be a hub of mental health education for Black individuals, where mental health is destigmatized and Black people are supported and informed about their mental well-being. We offer programs and services that address issues related to mental health, catered specifically to the needs of the Black community.
Our goal is to improve access to culturally affirming mental health education and ensure that our populations receive effective support and resources to enhance their well-being
