Age Exchange is a charity that uses arts, creativity, reminiscence and social connection to support people who draw on care, their families and communities. With 40 years of creative engagement experience, it delivers programmes locally and nationally to promote independence, wellbeing and social inclusion. Its work supports people at all stages of dementia, including young-onset dementia, as well as people with learning disabilities, autism, acquired brain injuries and mental health conditions. It also reaches people experiencing social isolation related to caring responsibilities or older age.
Based in Blackheath, London, Age Exchange’s community hub offers a welcoming space for creative experiences and local connection. Facilities and services include a café, library, exhibition and performance spaces, alongside support programmes and opportunities to take part in activities. The organisation also develops cultural and community partnerships across the UK. Visitors can attend events, hire spaces, access resources, or support its work through volunteering, fundraising and becoming a Friend of Age Exchange. Age Exchange is a subsidiary of the national charity Community Integrated Care.
