About Agent4Genomics
Agent4Genomics is a Stanford University initiative developing AI agents to support genomic research and applications. Based in the university’s Departments of Pathology and Genetics, the project focuses on using intelligent automation to help researchers manage complex biological workflows, including CRISPR experiment design and high-throughput functional screen analysis.
Its featured tool, CRISPR-GPT, is described as an agent powered by large language models and designed to streamline the planning, execution, and analysis of gene-editing experiments. The tool offers three interaction modes: Meta Mode provides step-by-step guidance for predefined gene-editing tasks; Auto Mode gives tailored guidance for open-ended requests; and QA Mode answers questions in real time.
Agent4Genomics also shares research papers, benchmarks, information about its team and agents, and links to its code on GitHub. Through these resources and tools, the initiative aims to make genomic workflows more efficient and accessible to researchers. Its website lists Yuanhao Qu and Le Cong as contacts and highlights its partners and affiliations.
