Česká agentura pro standardizaci byla zřízena jako státní příspěvková organizace Úřadem pro technickou normalizaci, metrologii a státní zkušebnictví (ÚNMZ) podle zákona č. 265/2017 Sb., kterým se mění zákon č. 90/2016 Sb., o posuzování shody stanovených výrobků při jejich dodávání na trh, a zákon č. 22/1997 Sb., o technických požadavcích na výrobky a o změně a doplnění některých zákonů, ve znění pozdějších předpisů.

Česká agentura pro standardizaci is a state-supported organization established by the Office for Technical Standardization, Metrology, and State Testing (ÚNMZ).
