App Ru is an independent directory of mobile applications that helps users find apps and follow links to their official listings in RuStore, Google Play, the App Store, and AppGallery. Its catalog features 389 apps organized into categories including shopping, transport and maps, banking, games, video and music, utilities, government services, messaging, health, communications, food delivery, and social networks. Visitors can browse popular free apps, explore category rankings, check user ratings, and read brief descriptions of featured services.

The listings include well-known apps such as SberBank Online, Avito, Ozon, VKontakte, 2GIS, and Gosuslugi, alongside services for navigation, entertainment, healthcare, and everyday tasks. App Ru also publishes updates and news about apps in its directory. The site states that it does not store or modify app files; each download link leads to an app store.

It is not affiliated with the app developers, and its information is provided for reference, with app terms set by their respective developers. The project provides contact and rights-holder channels for inquiries and listing corrections
