About AGI
AGI, the Guatemalan Lighting Association, was established in 2012 by architect María Fernanda Barrios, who recognized the need to promote light culture through lighting designers and professionals. AGI aims to enhance the practice of lighting design in Guatemala by engaging designers, professionals, and companies in the industry. Since 2014, AGI has operated as a non-profit organization, welcoming individuals who share a passion for lighting design best practices.
The association focuses on representing Guatemala's lighting industry through commercial, educational, public, and specification initiatives. AGI advocates for high-quality lighting products, educates on lighting design, and promotes professional excellence. Lighting design benefits human well-being by creating functional, comfortable, and visually appealing spaces. Designers at AGI collaborate with architects, interior designers, and developers to achieve the project's vision seamlessly.
