Washington Association of Area Agencies on Aging

The Washington Association of Area Agencies on Aging (W4A) is a membership organization representing the leadership of Washington State’s 13 Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs). Its mission is to advocate at the local, state, and federal levels for services and supports that improve the lives of older adults, adults living with disabilities, and their caregivers. W4A helps strengthen the work of local AAAs by collaborating with community partners, sharing information, and supporting effective advocacy. This work also helps staff and caregivers assist people in living independently in their homes.

Through its member agencies, W4A connects the public with information and assistance, including information and referral services available from each Washington AAA. The association’s website also shares resources about the WA Cares Fund, a state long-term care benefit, and provides links to current employment opportunities with local AAAs and their contractors. By bringing together the state’s area agencies, W4A supports stronger community services and promotes access to the assistance older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers need.
