About AGL
Agl, or Adjaristsqali Georgia LLC, is a special purpose vehicle established to harness the hydropower resources of the Adjaristsqali River and its tributaries in South Western Georgia. In a joint venture between Norway's Clean Energy Invest and India's Tata Power, Agl aims to develop sustainable hydropower projects for the benefit of Georgia's energy sector. The flagship project consists of the Shuakhevi Hydropower Plant (HPP) and the Skhalta HPP, with a combined capacity of 187 MW.
This project not only helps reduce Georgia's reliance on imported power but also contributes to strengthening the country's energy sector. Agl is committed to corporate governance and ethical business practices, employing over 700 local Georgians during the construction phase and implementing an extensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. This program focuses on promoting local infrastructure development, supporting income-generating initiatives, and conducting educational and awareness-raising activities.
Furthermore, Agl contributes significantly to the municipal budgets by paying 1% of property tax to the host municipalities. With its dedication to sustainability and community development, Agl stands as a leading brand in the Georgian energy sector, ensuring a brighter and more sustainable future for the country
