About AGMC
The Albuquerque Gem & Mineral Club (AGMC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to the advancement and enjoyment of Earth sciences. Its purpose is to encourage the exchange of information and deepen knowledge of mineralogy, fossils, geology, and lapidary arts, while inspiring interest in these subjects. The club brings together enthusiasts of different ages and experience levels through educational and social activities.
Members can take part in monthly guided field trips in New Mexico and nearby states, attend regular meetings, and explore the club’s lapidary studio, where they can develop skills in making cabochons for jewelry. A dedicated micromineral group meets monthly to examine and discuss specimens from New Mexico and around the world. The active Junior Club welcomes family members from kindergarten age through 17.
AGMC also publishes News Nuggets to share information about club activities and hosts the Treasures of the Earth gem and mineral show, its chief fundraiser.
