AGP Sozialforschung

AGP Sozialforschung is a German institute specializing in applied social research, consultancy, and professional development, with a focus on care and social policy. For 36 years, it has conducted research designed to inform policy and practice, helping communities and institutions respond to demographic change and evolving care needs. Its work spans older age, care, dementia, inclusion, case management, ethics, violence prevention, palliative care, participation, workforce issues, housing, and innovation.

The institute undertakes commissioned research and supports planning and development across Germany. Current projects include improving care-needs assessments, monitoring municipal care planning in Baden-Württemberg, preparing a state care plan for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and promoting health and violence prevention in residential long-term care. AGP also provides scientific support for model projects and develops reports on care systems and services. Its publications address topics such as reform of long-term care insurance and the future of care amid population ageing. AGP Sozialforschung is part of Interdisziplinäre Care Forschung gGmbH (InCareFor) and is based in Freiburg.
