AGRIRESEARCH UNGUKA is a dynamic youth-led agri-tech company comprised of 19 founder members with professional backgrounds in agriculture. This national non-governmental organization was established in 2018 and officially began its professional operations in 2020. AGRIRESEARCH's story began as a club at the University of Rwanda, College of Agriculture, Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (UR-CAVM), where it aimed to foster a research culture among young people and promote agriculture through community outreach programs.

Recognizing the potential negative impact of climate change on agriculture and the importance of a dedicated agricultural scientific community, AGRIRESEARCH was created to build a research ecosystem and assemble a team of exceptional researchers. Their vision is to make Rwanda's agriculture sector less climate-sensitive, environmentally friendly, and economically thriving. To achieve this, AGRIRESEARCH focuses on increasing youth engagement in agriculture, crop diversification, productivity enhancement, and reducing post-harvest losses.
