About AGTA
The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to the long-term stability and integrity of the natural colored gemstone, natural pearl, and cultured pearl industries. For more than 40 years, it has promoted education, transparency, ethical standards, and fair business practices in the buying, selling, and trading of these materials.
AGTA serves gemstone and jewelry professionals through industry events, educational resources, and member services. Its AGTA GemFair shows in Tucson and Las Vegas bring the trade together for networking, learning, and buying and selling. The annual Spectrum & Cutting Edge Awards recognize design excellence and innovation in natural colored gemstones and pearls. AGTA also offers a source directory to help professionals find ethical, reliable suppliers, alongside a gemstone guide covering varieties, properties, and lore. Additional resources include seminar programs, publications, news, archives, and stock photography.
